Our Mission

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Danville Area provides children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.

Our Vision
Big Brothers Big Sisters operates under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. As the largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network in the Danville Area, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 6 through 14. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people. It is our vision to that all children achieve success in life.

Big Brothers Big Sisters provide programs, such as School-Based and Community-Based Mentoring, to assist improving students social skills and getting exposed to positive role models from the leaders in the community. Through these programs, our goal is to educate the students that through academic support, education,  positive role modeling, and a one-to-one friendship, students will succeed in mentoring in their community and to their own children
