About Us and Site History
SERVE365 is a free community resource to help people find nonprofits in our community that are in need of volunteers, hosted by the Dan River Nonprofit Network (Learn more about us on our website!). It was previously hosted by the Center for Community Engagement and Career Competitiveness at Averett, in partnership with Danville Community College and Piedmont Community College. SERVE365 was also previously separated into two sites, one which served the general community, and one which served students at Averett, DCC, and PCC (Campus Engage). On 9.29.22, we completed a merger between the two sites.

SERVE365 operates in accordance with the Dan River Nonprofit Network's values statement: “The Dan River Nonprofit Network is committed to providing an environment that is free from discrimination and harassment based on race, age, creed, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, sex, gender, disability, veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.”
We offer the ability to:
• Search volunteer needs posted by local nonprofits
• Have volunteer hours approved on the site and export them into a convenient volunteer resume
• Filter by age, interests, location, accessibility and more to find the best volunteer opportunities for you
• Find agencies and needs that accept court-mandated volunteers
• Get connected to exclusively area organizations
• RSVP to upcoming community events hosted by nonprofits on the platform
We do not offer:
• SERVE365 does not vet volunteers that respond to agency needs. If that is something your agency requires, contact us and we can get you set up with a third-party partner that offers paid background checks.
