Who We Are

Spencer-Penn was built in 1927 as a school for Henry County. In 2004, when the county consolidated some of the local schools, Spencer-Penn was closed. The community gathered together and purchased the building to preserve the history and legacy of the Spencer-Penn School, focusing on education, cultural programming, and historical preservation. It continues to grow and carry on that legacy as one of the greatest local grassroots movements.

What We Do

Spencer-Penn offers a wide array of opportunities for people of all ages and all walks of life, from a community garden to a library. Some of the other resources offered includes rental spaces for events, a museum, courtyard, printing and copying services, special events and fundraisers, classes for adults and youth, youth summer camps, live music and performances, farmer's market, leased spaces, ballfield, walking track, nature trail, little free library, kitchen commissary, STEAM lab, conference space, and other special activities.
