Meal Provider

We are seeking compassionate and community-minded volunteers to prepare/donate meals for approximately 35 guests at our warming center. Your contribution will ensure that our guests receive a warm and nutritious meal each evening, helping to create a welcoming and supportive environment during the colder months.

Responsibilities:

• Meal Preparation

• Prepare a completed meal that includes a main dish, side dish, and optional dessert to serve 35 people. Meals should be filling, nutritious, and easily portioned.

• Safe Food Handling

• Ensure that all food is prepared and handled in a sanitary manner. Meals should be cooked to proper temperatures and transported in containers that maintain appropriate food safety standards.

• Delivery

• Deliver the prepared meal to the warming center by 6:45 PM on your assigned night. We do ask that you assist in serving the meal to our guests.

• Communication

• Coordinate with shelter staff to confirm your assigned night(s) and discuss any specific dietary needs or restrictions for the guests.

Support Provided:

• Staff will be available to answer any questions and provide guidance on meal preparation and delivery logistics.
• Access to a list of meal ideas and recipes if needed.

Additional Instructions:

• Please bring the food ready to serve (hot). There is not a kitchen available.
• If you are able, please provide beverages.
• Disposable plates, bowls, and cutlery are always welcomed.
• Good meal ideas include:
  • hamburgers
  • hotdogs
  • casseroles
  • hearty soups (please provide bowls)
• Please make staff aware of any dishes, utensils, crockpots, and other items that you would like returned. They will be ready for pickup the following evening. 

Disposable serving dishes are wonderful; however, please make staff aware of any dishes, utensils, crockpots, or other items that you want returned. They will be ready for pickup the following evening. The Warming Center is not staffed during the day.
