Focus on Youth CASA

Who We Are

Focus on Youth CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for children who have experienced abuse or neglect. We recruit, train, and support compassionate volunteers who are appointed by the court to serve as the voice for children involved in the juvenile court system. Our mission is to ensure every child we serve has a safe, permanent, and nurturing home where they can thrive. Through the commitment of our volunteers and the support of our community, we help change the lives of vulnerable children—one child, one advocate, one future at a time.

What We Do

A CASA volunteer is a trained community member appointed by a judge to advocate for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect. CASA volunteers get to know the child by building relationships with the child, family members, caregivers, teachers, medical professionals, and others involved in the child's life. They gather information, monitor the child's progress, and provide independent recommendations to the court to help ensure the child has a safe, permanent, and nurturing home. By giving just a few hours each month, CASA volunteers become a consistent, caring voice for a child during one of the most difficult times in their life.
