Almost all of our food is donated by the community and we rely on our supporters to provide this essential need. Whether you're looking to make a difference in people's lives or have a group that wants to do some good - this is the opportunity for you. House of Hope's kitchen is small (a single stove and a pantry), so most of our Food Volunteers prepare food beforehand and bring it with them. The shelter has plates, cups, napkins, silverware, and serving utensils. You'll just need to bring the food! The amount of people staying each night varies, but a good number would be 10-12. When we receive a request from a nonprofit, we send out an email to our Ambassadors to allow them to choose the project if they are available to help. Our only requirement for being an Ambassador is that our United Way Ambassador t-shirt be worn when you are able to serve. We will provide the shirt free of charge! It doesn't require a special occasion or expensive activities, just a few hours every month sharing simple things you already enjoy with a young person. Things like...
