This role focuses less on behind-the-scenes work and more on connecting with guests while providing meals in a trauma-informed, compassionate way

This volunteer prepares and delivers a meal for our guests. Responsibilities include:

Providing a meal that serves at least 30 people.

Delivering the meal hot and ready to serve, as we do not provide cookware or facilities for heating.

Meal providers are not required to stay to serve, but if you would like to help serve your meal, please also sign up for the Meal Service Volunteer role.

Supporting our mission by ensuring guests receive nourishing, ready-to-enjoy meals.

This volunteer helps manage and organize donations to ensure guests and the program have what they need. Responsibilities include:

Receiving, sorting, and organizing donated items such as clothing, hygiene products, blankets, and other essentials.

Tracking inventory and communicating needs to the team to ensure critical items are stocked.

Coordinating distribution of donations to guests in a respectful, trauma-informed way.

Supporting the program by ensuring donations are handled efficiently, safely, and with care.

This role is focused on the behind-the-scenes organization of donations rather than direct guest interaction, though it contributes to the comfort and well-being of all guests.

As an Data Intake Volunteer, you will assist in preparing the center for the night by welcoming/greeting guests as they arrive and assisting in completing intake forms to ensure everyone is properly checked in. Your role includes overseeing the meal service and ensuring that all guests are settled in appropriately.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Intake and RegistrationWelcome guests arriving at the center between 6 PM and 9 PM.Conduct initial registration and intake, including collecting necessary information.Ensure all guests are properly checked in and assigned to their sleeping areas.

As a Laundry Service Volunteer, your responsibilities include picking up, laundering, and returning guests' bedding (blankets, pillowcases, etc.) The contribution of your time will ensure that our guests can rest peacefully on clean linens during their stay. Please plan to wash and dry approximately 30 sets.

Supplies (detergent, quarters for laundromat, etc.) will be provided.Pick up bedding and supplies promptly at 10 am and return within 48 hours. For example, if you sign up to launder bedding materials on a Tuesday morning you would need to return the laundered items no later than Thursday morning.
